Pitchbending without Timestretching?

Hey!

I was wondering if anyone on here had any tips on programs/techniques that allow one to pitchbend a sample either up or down without having that sample be sped up or slowed down. So say I pitchbent a sample up two octaves; that sample would then play much faster. Is there any way to avoid this? I hear this effect on songs sometimes and have no idea how they do it!
