ok guys. so, i was trying to record some samples off a VHS tape (from a VCR to an ensoniq ASR). When auditioning/monitoring the source material through the sampler, it sounds fine. however, when i actually sample and play it back, there is nasty buzzy distortion on the sample. not a ground loop or hum, but a gross kind of distortion.
have any of you ever experienced this? wtf am i doing wrong? (aside from sampling VHS tapes)
i'm thinking the video signal could be bleeding into the audio, but why wouldn't the noise be present when monitoring it?
